What is The Order of the Stag and the Rose?

The Order of the Stag and the Rose is an animistic spiritual path based on the foundational principles of being a dedicated practitioner of the magical arts living within, studying, and communing with the rhythms and cycles of Nature.  We focus our minds, hearts, and skill development on re-harmonizing ourselves to the natural world, and working co-creatively with planet Earth and its many spiritual beings to restore balance within and without.  

The Order of the Stag and the Rose was founded by Faelan Shiva after receiving clear instructions from Spirit in January of 2022.  While Faelan is an initiated Druid in the Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids, she guides the Order in a non-denominational approach open to all genders.  One does not have to identify as Druid, Wiccan, Pagan, or Witch to train in the Order.  Instead, Faelan guides each member to discover their own path with heart, and to find their own authentic connection with Nature as a magical path.

The following courses are designed for folks who find themselves called to lead Spirit and heart based circles, groups, gatherings, and rituals but are looking for training and support in working with spiritual forces, holding it within a grounded container, and stepping into empowered confident leadership. In some cases, a practitioner may choose to take these courses for their own spiritual enrichment, however, by the end of the training a desire to radiate compassion outward and to make the world a better place is inevitable.

The Order of the Stag and the Rose began as an initiatory training for the serious magical practitioner and continues to grow into a family and community of enchantment, service, and leadership.

Priest/ess of the Elements - Level 1

March 11, 2024 - March 10, 2025 (Applications will be accepted beginning in January)

2nd Mondays from 6-8pm PT online via Zoom.  The live stream feature is to enable long distance participation in real time.

All students must submit an application before approval for joining the course.

*There are only 13 openings.  Once the first class begins, the group is closed.  A new group begins every March*

At this level, we focus on developing container. In order to safely and ethically hold space for others while leading circles, gatherings, or rituals, container is everything.

This starts in our own minds and bodies.  For a year we focus on building the container of the individual. From this place I have watched members  grow into and claim their gifts. Becoming more themselves with confidence. Offerings are naturally coming from them, like a spring, as they have tapped into a well.

Course structure:

In addition to the 2 hour monthly meeting there will be weekly homework assignments.  They are required for participation in the course, however they are designed to fit within the modern schedule and will generally take 1-2 hours per week.  

Sharing and discussion are part of the course requirements, which will most often happen during the monthly class. We will also have a Facebook group for questions and ongoing conversation. 

Initiation in this course begins with official recognition as a Dedicated Man/Woman/Person of Spirit. Upon graduation of this level, you will be initiated as a Priest/ess of the Elements.  This means having a solid foundation and understanding of the Elements, a healthy and grounded understanding of magical work, and being qualified to hold ritual circles, including circle casting and calling in the elements and directions. A 7 day abstinence period from recreational drugs, including cigarettes and alcohol, is required to begin.

There is a lot more doing than studying!  While there is a plethora of valuable (and not so valuable) information out there, this training is designed on building your active participation and understanding in the magical arts, and as a mediator of spiritual energies.

If you participate and engage with the course work, you will grow, change, and develop as a practitioner.  This work is not based on a self-help program or ideal, though you will likely feel much more powerful and grounded as a result.  The aim of this course is to teach you how to hold and mediate spiritual energies so that you can be of service to the world, to each other, to our fellow humans, to the living creatures, and to the land.  Only you will know what that level of service looks like for you, and it will develop over time.

Required Tools:

A journal and a willingness to explore and engage is all that is required.  A small altar table, or square of cloth and a candle will be highly encouraged.  Questions are a valuable learning tool as well!

Priest/ess Seer (Level 2) 

April 2023-April 2024 (there will be a level 2 following each level 1, exact dates TBA)

Open only to Level 1 graduates

One Monday per month live class

$250-500 per month sliding scale tuition

In this course we dive into the Mysteries of the unkown and develop our skills of divination.  We will consider spellwork and magical workings, our personal magical aptitudes, develop our intuiton, and learn to sense and interpret the Unseen World.  We will use Tarot, Astrology, and our own handmade divination cards as tools for our journey.

In addition to the 2 hour monthly meeting there will be weekly homework assignments.  They are required for participation in the course, however they are designed to fit within the modern schedule and will generally take 1-2 hours per week.  

Sharing and discussion are part of the course requirements, which will most often happen during the monthly class. We will also have a Facebook group for questions and ongoing conversation. 

Graduation from this course ends with inititation as a Priest/ess Seer (Priest/ess of Diviniation).

Priest/ess of Spirit (Level 3) 

This will be a separate course with graduation as an initiated Priest/ess of Spirit.  This will focus on ritual development, crafting and facilitating rituals on your own with a clear intention and outcome.  This will also be the level in which your chosen path of service will become an important theme. Further details TBA. Course available in 2025 to graduates of level 2, Priest/ess Seers.
