About Faelan
Hi! I’m Faelan Shiva, a Certified Master Astrologer, Tarot Adept, Priestess, Teacher, and Guide of the esoteric arts. I am radically passionate about helping folks live their best lives, full of empowerment, purpose, and compassion for themselves and others. I am rather zealous in my mission to guide folks into remembering that we are all part of Nature, and when we honor and live within her cycles and rhythms, we are connected to Source and have access to our own innate wisdom.
I was born with one foot in the Otherworld. This made for a challenging childhood with religious parents. I had prophetic dreams, saw visions regularly, and said truths that made folks very uncomfortable. Eventually, I did what so many of us had to do to survive in today’s world - I hid it. I tried to be “normal”.
I grew up confused about what to do with myself and so I ran around and made all the classic “young Sagittarius” mistakes in search of meaning. When I was 24 I had a Near Death Experience that changed me forever. They will do that.
In 2002 I moved into a Buddhist Ashram for 6.5 years. I ate, breathed, and slept yoga, meditation, ayurveda, and subtle body practices. I developed a discipline of mind and body that has continued to serve me in my life and work. I was an avid Vajrayana Buddhist practitioner and Ayurvedic apprentice/practitioner for 13 years, but at some point I had to admit it wasn’t quite the right fit for me. I was less concerned with Buddhist holidays and the birthdays of Saints than I was enamored with the first colored leaf of Autumn, or the way my body felt at Imbolc, as if something ancient was stirring inside me, or the Mysteries of life receding and returning at Samhain and Bealtaine.
I could hear my Irish and Scottish ancestors calling me, but I wasn’t sure where to find them. And then I found Druidry. Then I found The Old Faery Tradition taught by RJ Stewart, a Scotsman, who upon our first meeting said, “Hello! It’s nice to see you again!”, which momentarily confused us both. I have apprenticed with him and his partner Anastacia Nutt ever since.
Through Druidry I found the work of Astrologer Steven Forrest, and am now a Certified Master Astrologer through his school, the Forrest Center for Evolutionary Astrology.
I have earned a lot of official titles on my spiritual and professional journey: Hatha Yoga Instructor, Meditation Instructor, Ayurvedic Practitioner, Master Astrologer, Author, Priestess, Ordained Minister of the Universal Life Church, Druid member of the Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids; probably some more I’ve forgotten about. But I am most proud to blend them together into systems and offerings that work to change lives, infused with my life experiences, mistakes made, and wisdom earned.
